A native of Northern California, Tommy Villafranca began his creative career learning to play the piano when he was eight years old. Piano led to a deeper passion --- Drums! Soon the VHS-Camcorder sparked another avenue of expression for Tommy. Inspired heavily by Music and the Visual Arts, Tommy began the Journey of learning and crafting a blend of both.

After high school, he attended San Francisco State University earning a degree in Cinema. Within weeks of graduation, Tommy joined the DreamWorks team in Los Angeles. After two successful years at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, he assisted producer June Beallor and director James Moll with post-production for the Academy Award © winning documentary "The Last Days," also produced by Steven Spielberg.

While working the “day gig” at the studio, Tommy was utilizing every resource around him to produce projects independently on his own. Tommy was production managing his first feature at the early age of 26 and later earned his professional days qualifying him into the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild gaining valuable professional experience both behind and in front of the camera.

Tommy continues acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse studying considerably with Richard Lawson and Alan Barton.  Tommy's acting credits in film and television include "Mr. Fix It" with David Boreanaz, "The Family Plan" with Tori Spelling and "Cut Off" starring Malcolm McDowell, Faye Dunaway and Anne Archer. 

In addition to Acting and Producing movies, Tommy is a recording and live musician for various Los Angeles based singer-songwriters. His musical efforts have teamed him up with Phillip “Fish” Fisher, former drummer and founding member of the prolific band Fishbone, and Kerim Imes, drummer for Off Color and Year of the Dragon. Occasionally Tommy teaches at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music founded by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

With clear focus and a passion for the arts, Tommy continues putting his stamp on entertainment history.

Tommy just wrapped up shooting "Smoked," an original comedy web series he co-created.
