Born to both Dominican parents, Barnaby Barrilla was born in New York City and grew up in Washington Heights.  He was raised by his mother Esther Castro, a single parent who was a student of Flamenco.  Barnaby got his passion from seeing his mother perform at a young age.

Barnaby attended the University of Kentucky for 2 yrs in 2004 as a business major before moving back to New York City to pursue the art.  After studying theatre in the City, he decided to move to Los Angeles right away.

Upon arriving in LA, he started learning the business quickly and immediately worked on a few film projects while honing his craft.  After 2 years in LA, he teamed up with a commercial and theatrical agent and booked more work. 

His last project includes a short film directed by Denzel Whitaker (The Bad Lieutenant, The Great Debaters) and Brandon Hammond (Space Jam, Menace II Society), and produced by Jermaine Williams (Stomp the Yard, Great Debaters).  

He is currently working on writing a feature that he is looking to having it ready for production by this coming year.
